Lighting is the most powerful — and most often underestimated — tool in interior design. The same room can feel cold or warm, spacious or intimate, depending entirely on how it’s lit. We approach lighting as a strategic design element, not an afterthought, and it shows in every project we complete.
Our lighting strategy begins with layering: ambient light for overall illumination, task light for functional areas, and accent light to highlight architectural features, artwork, and materials. Each layer is planned independently and then balanced against the others for a result that feels both functional and atmospheric.
David Lucas Horst, our Color & Lighting Specialist, brings deep expertise in fixture selection, dimmer system design, and bulb temperature mapping. He understands how light interacts with paint colors and material finishes — a critical consideration when selecting both the light sources and the surfaces they’ll illuminate. Warm white versus cool white, CRI rating, and beam angle are not technical details we skip over.
Our lighting work includes recessed lighting layout and specification, pendant and chandelier selection, under-cabinet and toe-kick lighting, cove and indirect lighting details, outdoor and landscape lighting, and smart lighting integration with platforms like Lutron and Control4.
